Prosser Reservoir is a popular location for canoeing, swimming and fishing. Power boating is allowed but a 10-mph speed limit is enforced. A boat ramp is located about a mile south of the campground near Prosser Ranch Group Campground. The surrounding area offers many hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle trails. Prosser OHV staging area is approximately two miles west, across Highway 89. Access to Prosser Hill Motorcycle trail, and Prosser Hill and Sagehen Hills OHV trail system. Access to designated OHV routes from campground. Respect other campers. OHV ingress and egress only. PLEASE HELP KEEP YOUR PUBLIC LANDS HEALTHY, PRODUCTIVE, AND BEAUTIFUL Off-Highway Vehicle enthusiasts have been utilizing the Tahoe National Forest in uncharacteristically high numbers. Unfortunately, resource damage is occurring. Pease remember the following: Not all closed routes are blocked with gates or posted with ‘closed’ signs. Please consult the Motor Vehicle Use map to learn more about seasonal operation dates. Do not operate Motorized Vehicles outside of established routes. The reckless riding of a few can cause resource damage that lasts for years and leads to further restrictions for all riders.
Boca Reservoir is 30 minutes east of the campground, offering additional boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing opportunities. Truckee, 10 minutes south, offers all the amenities of a year round recreational mountain town including interstate highway connectivitiy, top notch restaraunts, resorts, and hotels, grocery stores, gas stations, shopping, and historic sites. Lake Tahoe is located 30 minutes south and offers excellent boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking and scenic driving opportunities, as well as dining, shopping and lodging options. Other recreational opportunities include Donner Camp Interpretive Trail, Overland Emigrant Commemorative Trial, Stampede Reservoir Recreation Area, Prosser Pits OHV area, and numerous hiking, mountain biking, and OHV trails.

Reservations are handled by Recreation.gov, not by Kestrel. Use the official reservation link on this page to book. Kestrel only watches availability and tells you when a site frees up.
Kestrel rescans every two minutes, and every 30 seconds during the provider's daily release window. Alerts go out by email as soon as a matching site appears.
