What to know before booking

Midland Group Campground is located along the Fraser River, just south of Winter Park. Midland Group Campground provides for a minimally developed group camping experience for up to 36 people. Midland Campground sits at 9,500' elevation, along the Fraser River as it runs from its source near Berthoud Pass to its confluence with the Colorado River.

Facilities

Midland Group Campground provides for a minimally developed group camping experience for up to 36 people. There are five picnic tables, each with metal fire ring and a large area for tents and canopy structures. Bear-resistant food storage lockers are not yet available at this site. Portable toilets are provided for guest use, and water is available at Idlewild Campground about 3 miles north of Midland. The campground host will be located off-site at Idlewild.

Natural Features

Midland Campground sits at 9,500' elevation, along the Fraser River as it runs from its source near Berthoud Pass to its confluence with the Colorado River. Nearby trailheads and 4x4 roads provide access to Jim Creek, as well as the west side of historic Rollins Pass. The summit of Berthoud Pass provides further scenery and trail access. Afternoon thunderstorms can be expected during spring and summer months.

Recreation

Hiking, biking, fishing and wildlife viewing are all accessible near the campground. Nearby Berthoud Pass is known for its scenic drive.

Nearby Attractions

Grocery shopping and restaurants are available in towns of Winter Park and Fraser. The Arapaho National Recreation Area and western portal of Rocky Mountain National Park are within an hour's drive.

Important notices

Please Note: The site provides parking for up to 12 vehicles and a maximum of 36 people at one time. A combination to the site access gate can be obtained by contacting Vista Recreation at 530-529-0578 . Vehicle access to the lower camping site is determined on a case-by-case basis. Trailers are not recommended.
Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (NOON) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.
RV water connections are not available; come with your water tank filled.
Reservation holder must be present at check-in.
