Facilities

Shenoah Picnic Area has a group picnic area made up of 9 individual picnic sites and a group campfire ring. When the group site is not reserved, picnic sites that make up the group site may each be rented on a first come, first serve basis for day use until 12 PM. This picnic area offers vault restroom facilities.

The picnic area sits near the banks of the Blacksmith Fork River, surrounded by rugged hills that are shaded by black willow and box elder trees.

Recreation

Visitors enjoy hiking, fishing and exploring off-road trails. Mountain bikers can follow Forest Road 245 to the Great Western Trail,a multi-use trail, near the Blacksmith Fork Guard Station. Scenic drive the roads or hike area trails while watching for wildlife.

This Campground is in Bear Country - Always store food and trash securely to avoid attracting wildlife - Failure to comply may result in fines up to $5,000, removal from your campsite and/or imprisonment - Remember, a fed bear is a dead bear; your actions can save lives
Dogs or Domestic Pets: - Owners must: - Must control the dog by a leash not to exceed six feet (6’) at all times - Clean up dog feces immediately - Limit two dogs per campsite - Do not allow dogs to: - Rush, threaten, or attack people/animals - Obstruct or interfere with people, vehicles, or property - Cause damage to vegetation, habitat, or harass wildlife
Picnic Area Etiquette and Rules: - Gates open at 7a.m., Gates close at 10p.m. - Picnicking is allowed only within the designated space provided. Do not go beyond the boundaries of your site. - Maximum occupancy is 8 people per single site. - Off-road vehicles are not allowed in the canyon. - Leave No Trace - Put all garbage in dumpsters, when provided, or properly stored in vehicle or bear box. - Remove all personal property and trash when leaving. - Unclean campsites will be reported to the District Ranger LEO - Leaving food/trash in an unoccupied campsite may result in a $5,000 fine - Do not put garbage or fish waste in toilets. - Fireworks or other explosives are prohibited. Discharging of a firearm in the campground is not allowed. - No amplified music is allowed in USDA Forest Service campgrounds and facilities. People come to the campgrounds for peace and quiet.
A $10 fee will be collected onsite for extra vehicles (cash/check only)
